Dr. Lesia Washington is a licensed and ordained minister of the gospel in Louisiana, she has been ministering since she was in her teens. The youngest of eleven, at the age of 15 years old she heard an audible voice, charging her mission to preach and teach God’s word, and to bring understanding to all.
Dr. washington's Story
Dr. Lesia Washington is the wife of 36 years to Bishop Rickey T. Washington Sr. and Co-Founder and Co-Pastor of Higher Ground Outreach Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is truly a woman with wisdom beyond her years.
Dr. Lesia has always sought to inspire. She has served as Director of Christian Education for Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship Southeast Berith District, she served as choir President in her youth and aided in coordinating and organizing youth and church tours, to places like London, England, California, Georgia, and Texas.
Among the recognitions that have been bestowed upon her she has received she has been recognized with an award from the Top Ladies of Distinction Nonpareil Chapter of Baton Rouge, She was a keynote speaker at the NOBEL (National Association of Black Elected Legislative Women) in 2011, she received a certificate for speaking at Delta Sigma Sorority at Southeastern Louisiana University.
She is the author of three books she has written, What to do when you’ve been hurt, How to become more committed to the things of God, and the new book We’re Fighters. Dr. Lesia has been married to Bishop Rickey Washington for 35 years. She is the mother of three wonderful children, Domonique S. Washington (34), Richelle N. Washington Wilson (30), Rickey T. Washington II (28), she has a daughter-in-law Selina Washington and 4 grandchildren, Kameron (13), Kyleigh (5), Yara Celine Washington (1) and bonus granddaughter, Kamia Domino (5).
Dr. Lesia Washington is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Louisiana, she received an award for Million Dollar Producer in 2001- 2002. She has a Diploma in Childcare with Honors from Ashworth College and PCI in 2002. A certificate in Christian Counseling from AACC (American Association of Christian Counseling) and many others.
Dr. Lesia remains most proud of her family where they serve God together.
